Project HEADCET

Launch of the CADEC Model Pilot at the placement offices of partner universities

The Latin American universities participating in the HEADCET project have begun piloting the CADEC Model – Career Development Centres, designed to help students navigate the job market more effectively and build their professional futures.

Through the CADEC model, placement offices are being transformed into modern, inclusive, and student-centered spaces. These centres support students in exploring their interests, identifying the skills needed in today’s labor market, preparing strong CVs, practicing interview techniques, and connecting directly with companies, organizations, and stakeholders in their local communities.

Special attention is given to emerging and sustainable sectors such as green jobs, the circular cconomy and social innovation, supporting students in pursuing meaningful and forward-looking career paths.

The development of the model was a shared process among all partners, structured through three key webinars:

  • In the first webinar (April 2025), the CADEC model was introduced, including its structure, objectives, and main features. Universities had the opportunity to discuss initial ideas and reflect on how to adapt them to their specific contexts.
  • In the second webinar (May 2025), the results of the needs analysis were shared, based on a questionnaire completed by placement office staff. This helped map the current status of services in terms of structure, staff skills, tools in use, and alignment with labor market demands.
  • In the third webinar (June 2025), students were given a voice through a survey designed to gather their views on how they would like career services to look and function. The findings provided valuable insights to further refine the CADEC model and ensure it is truly relevant, accessible, and aligned with student needs.

Partner universities are now working on the practical implementation of the model, organizing information days, company meetups, workshops, and tailored support activities. The goal is to offer concrete and customized services that help students find direction, build skills, and create meaningful connections for their professional journeys.
