Miguel Ángel Lacabana carries out an academic stay at the University of Florence

Professor and researcher Miguel Ángel Lacabana, a faculty member at the National University of Quilmes (UNQ), is currently undertaking an academic stay at the University of Florence, Italy, within the framework of the European Union’s Erasmus+ KA171 programme. This programme funds short-term teaching and training mobility opportunities for university staff, promoting international exchanges and strengthening cooperation between European institutions and partner countries outside Europe, such as Argentina.

During his stay, Professor Lacabana is participating in a seminar series on the topic “Circular Economy and Sustainable University.”

It is important to highlight that Professor Lacabana participated in the project “Higher Education Partnerships for Sustainable Local Development through Circular Economy and Social Innovation” (HEADCET), which supports Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Argentina, Chile, and Paraguay in addressing sustainable development challenges by improving their relevance to labour markets and society as a whole.

The academic activities carried out at the Italian university included:

• “Lithium and sustainable development”, within the course Merceology and Quality of Resources (EA-MIQ).
• “Fashion systems, environmental impacts and circular economy”, at the Novoli Campus in Florence, within the course Economics and Development of Production Systems (EC C SECI).
• “Vulnerable territories and sustainable development at the local level”, at the Novoli Campus in Florence, within the course Circular Economy and Sustainable Human Development (SECI).

Through this initiative, our institution contributes to strengthening international academic dialogue and promoting sustainable practices in higher education.
